About a year ago I shared with you one of my deepest, darkest secrets……. I collect other people’s tossed out shopping lists. They are fascinating, not to mention hilarious. I’m not the only one who finds these discarded scraps of paper irresistible. There’s an actual website dedicated to the collection of grocery lists. They have almost 4,000 of them and are a remarkably revealing look into people’s lives and their spelling ability (mayonnaise is an especially difficult one).
I found this little gem last week at my hometown market. First off, this is obviously a joint list. You can tell from the handwriting alone that the person that wants the Coke and Smokes is not the same person that wants the Oysters and Bananas.
Let’s just take it from the top.
I had to Google Murine. If you, like me, do not know what that is I will save you the energy of Googling it yourself. Murine is a do-it-yourself ear wax removal system.
I’m not 100% sure that says cake or Coke, but judging from the other items I’m going to go with Coke.
Who knew people still bought cigarettes, let alone called them smokes.
Stamps. Good thinking, save a trip to the post office.
Let’s all keep in mind I live in North Dakota. We are nowhere near any sort of body of water. We are talking canned oysters here.
Do you think they eat the bananas and oysters separate or together? On crackers maybe?
