This holiday espresso pairing post has been sponsored by Peet’s Coffee. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
We all know that selecting the perfect wines to compliment a holiday meal is important but do you want to know what’s even more important than wine during the holidays? That’s right, coffee. And by coffee, I mean espresso. If you are hosting guests this holiday season (and especially if you are hosting house guests) than you know, it’s a lot of work! And while enjoying a few glasses of wine at a holiday party is nice, the elixir that keeps the whole show running is the deep, dark caffeinated variety.

This year, I am thrilled to be partnering with Peet’s Coffee to help you prepare for the busy holiday season with the perfect espresso blend for each and every occasion where you might say to yourself, “I need a coffee!”. Peet’s Espresso Capsules make the perfect at-home espresso and work right in your Nespresso Original machines. The capsules are all made of aluminum, so no yucky plastic, and can be found on Peets.com, Amazon, or at lots of local grocery stores.

All four blends offer a rich, nuanced flavor that is unmistakably Peet’s but each have their own special characteristics that make them unique. So without further ado, shall we?
Late-Night Party Prep

The night before a big holiday party is always a hectic time. You’ll inevitably find me running around like a crazy person trying to get as much prep done ahead of time as possible. Setting the table, getting ready for house-guests, baking desserts and anything else that can be made the night before. “How do I do it all?” You might ask? A dark, nutty espresso is how! I particularly love Peet’s Crema Scura blend. It is earthy and smooth with a delicious creamy finish.
Holiday Breakfast

The holidays offer lots of occasions to gather together. I especially like to host big holiday breakfasts. I make breakfast tacos with eggs and chorizo or bacon, homemade salsa, lots of fruit, and of course coffee. My favorite for morning sipping is Peet’s Ricchezza. It has notes of brown sugar and berries and pairs beautifully with a full-blown Mexican breakfast.
Espresso + Dessert

The best espresso for serving with dessert is Peet’s Ristretto. It has hints of spice and chocolate so it goes well with any number of sweets, but is not so overpowering that all you’ll taste is coffee. It’s amazing with pumpkin pie, but since we like to do a dessert buffet, this is the perfect blend because it’s also great with Pear Canela Cake, chocolate churros, and Sweet Molasses Apple Pie.
Holiday Shopping Pick-Me-Up
If you plan on catching all the best deals during the holiday shopping rush, you’re going to need Peet’s Nerissimo blend. This is the darkest of the four blends; so rich and intense you’ll be ready to rock those holiday sales all day long.
