My name is Kate Ramos and ¡Hola! Jalapeño is where I share my take on Mexican-inspired food. ¡Hola! Jalapeño is what happens when I combine my love of food and my desire to share my husband’s Mexican heritage with our kids. The result are Mexican-inspired recipes that are based in the Mexican pantry but influenced by my background as a chef and over two decades of experience in the kitchen.
I spent many years as a chef, food editor, and recipe developer exploring different cuisines and cooking styles but it wasn’t until I fell in love and married a devastatingly handsome Mexican man that I simultaneously fell in love with Mexican food, culture, and cooking.
Now as a Nueva Latina I merge authentic ingredients and flavors with modern preparations; embracing the fresh, healthy, simple cooking that is at the root of traditional Mexican cuisine.
I want my kids to grow up being lovers of Mexican culture and in my world that starts at the table.
