I’m going to be honest with you, I hate cleaning, but I do love a clean kitchen. Therefore, I’ve gotten pretty good at getting the job done and getting on with life. Today, in honor of the soon-to-come Spring season I’m sharing the 6 kitchen cleaning hacks I rely on.
They all require one, hypoallergenic cleaner, and 5 minutes of your time. Read on to see what it is!

Kitchen Cleaning Hacks Without Harsh Chemicals
Getting your kitchen to sparkle doesn’t have to make you, your family, or your pets sick in the process. I’m proud to be partnering with The Feedfeed and Bon Ami, America’s original natural home cleanser, to show how I cut through sticky messes with their nontoxic formula.
Bon Ami has been making its hypoallergenic powder cleanser since 1886. Made with natural soft abrasives like limestone and feldspar it gently cleans everything from grease to sterling silver.
But don’t take my word for it, let’s take a look at some before and after shots to see Bon Ami in action!
How To Clean A White Kitchen Sink
My sink gets a lot of use. We don’t have a dishwasher which means everything gets scrubbed here and this can be tough on the white enamel finish. Food stains, hard water stains, scuffs, you name it, my sink sees it all. The best way to keep it clean is by sprinkling a dusting of Bon Ami all over the sink and faucet, scrubbing with a sponge, and rinsing clean!
Are you on a septic system like we are? Another advantage of using a green cleaner like Bon Ami is it is safe for septic and all water systems.
How To Clean A Blender in 30 Seconds
The blade. The tight nooks and crannies. Deep cleaning a blender is a pain! Here’s how to get out all the gunk in 30 seconds:
- Fill dirty blender three-quarters of the way with water.
- Shake a few shakes of Bon Ami Cleanser and a drop of dish soap into the blender.
- Cover and turn on for a few seconds.
- Dump out the water and rinse!
How To Clean Greasy Pans
Pans of all sorts, but especially enameled cast iron, attract grease and scuff marks like no other. I’m especially tough on my pans because I use them every single day. The above before and after shows what you can do with just a little Bon Ami and 5 minutes of scrubbing.
Kitchen Cleaning Hack:
- Make a paste of Bon Ami and a little water.
- Wipe the paste all over trouble areas.
- Let sit for an hour.
- Scrub and rinse clean.
How To Clean Sterling Silver
When my grandmother passed away, I received her collection of antique sterling silver pieces. I feel terrible every time I look at them because I haven’t done the best job keeping them shiny and have let them get so tarnished. Come to find out, Bon Ami is great for cleaning sterling silver as well! I wonder if that’s what she used? Oh the things I wish I would’ve asked her.
Check out the difference above—and that was only after 5 minutes of work. Here’s what I did:
- Make a thick paste of Bon Ami and a little water.
- Using your fingers, rub paste all over silver pieces, making sure to get in the tight spots.
- Use a toothbrush to gently scrub the silver until shiny (rinse out the toothbrush while you work).

How To Clean Stuck On Food
My number one kitchen cleaning hack for stuck on food is to always fill your hot pan with water right after you take the food out and then set it on the stove while you eat. If this doesn’t work, pour the water out, sprinkle Bon Ami into the pan and scrub until clean!
How To Clean Coffee Stains From Cups
Bon Ami is spectacular at getting coffee stains out of cups and because it is nontoxic I don’t have to worry about my kids drinking out of it moments later. Win-win!
