Hi Friends!
How was your week?
It’s been so steaming hot here that I’ve nearly forgot we’re in the middle of fall and Halloween is right around the corner. I’ve been plucking ripe tomatoes and basil from the garden as if it were July and find myself totally confused as what season what season we’re in.
But Halloween IS coming up. Do you dress up? I don’t unless it is something I can pull out of a closet and pull over my head. I’m not a crafty person whatsoever so Halloween costumes stress me out. I’m also extremely frugal (artist’s budget, you know) so I refuse to buy a store-bought costume for the kids either. Therefore, it’s off to the thrift shop we go! Louisa wants to dress up like Eleven from Stranger Things and Hiro wants to go as Michael Myers—a character from a movie he has never seen, but that doesn’t seem to matter.
Weather be damned, I’m embracing fall in the kitchen, even if I have to sweat it out. This week we’ve got some yummy weeknight dinner recipes (as usual), as well as some ideas that you might want as Day of the Dead recipes and even a spooky cocktail for Halloween!
Thanks as always to my fellow food bloggers for the inspiration!
Have a fun and safe Halloween everyone! Send me pics of you or the kiddos if you dress up!
