If you could throw an epic Cinco de Mayo party what would it look like?
Mine would be FULL of color—bright fuchsia, deep turquoise, marigold orange. I would have Vincente Fernandez blasting on the stereo and of course there would be a massive bar with every tequila under the sun.
At least 20 different margaritas on offer and table after beautifully-set table of glorious Mexican food.
Oh, I can throw an off-the-hook fiesta in my head. In reality however, our Cinco de Mayo leans heavy on the snacks.
Ones like chipotle-lime popcorn and Mexican cucumber salad are easy to throw together and go great with my favorite margarita recipe, a few friends… and Vincente Fernandez on the stereo.
If you have kids in the crowd make this easy 3-ingredient fruit dip, slice up some ripe fruit and watch it disappear. Seriously, kids flock to this combo like bees to honey.
I collected 15 of our favorite Cinco De Mayo snacks and listed them below.
These are my family’s top favorites (out of every single snack recipe I’ve ever published) and each recipe is perfect for sharing for Cinco de Mayo, 4th of July festivities, graduation parties, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, or poolside.
The Ultimate Snack For Any Party

Here’s a little success tip for any celebration that makes hosting a breeze: Include a grazing board in your spread.
Grazing boards are visually appealing, require minimal cooking, and offer variety to please different tastes. You can prep most elements in advance so you can spend less time fussing and more time enjoying the party.
For your Cinco de Mayo celebration, assemble a Mexican-inspired board with small bowls of your favorite dips (salsa, guacamole, queso), chips, crudités (think sliced sweet peppers, jicama), olives, etc. See my post on the ultimate Mexican cheese board for inspiration.
